What comes with your diamond
-
An IGI grading report
Most of our rings include a report from IGI, an independent lab, for the center diamond. The product page tells you when one is included.
-
The details in writing
The report lists the diamond's shape, measurements, carat weight, colour and clarity, and states that it is lab-grown.
-
Check it yourself
Go to igi.orgEvery IGI report has a number. You can look it up on IGI's website to see the same details.
The 4Cs
Four grades, one at a time.
Tap each one and move the slider to see how the grade changes a diamond.
Cut
How well the diamond is shaped and polished. A good cut is what gives a diamond its brilliance and sparkle.
Color
Graded from D (colorless) to Z. Each ring page shows the color grades you can choose for that ring.
Clarity
How few tiny marks a diamond has inside and on its surface. Each ring page shows the clarity grades you can choose.
Carat
The weight of the diamond. A higher carat means a larger stone, and the price changes with it.
Illustration for learning. Sizes are approximate for a round diamond.
Common questions
Diamond questions
Yes. A lab-grown diamond is made of the same material as a mined diamond (carbon) and has the same hardness and sparkle. The difference is where it forms.
Not by looking at it. Telling the difference needs special lab equipment. Your IGI report says that the diamond is lab-grown.
No. Grading reports are made for the center diamond. Small side diamonds are not graded one by one, which is normal in the jewelry trade.
Find the report number on your certificate, go to igi.org and enter it in the report check. The details should match your certificate.
